The landscape

The wild side of Rajasthan

Bijoliya is a town in Rajasthan between two tiger reserves, Ramgarh Vishdhari (RVTR) and Mukundra Hills (MHTR). It is also close to the Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary and the Menal Forest Reserve, which makes it an important area for wildlife movement just outside the protected zones.

The landscape links the Aravalli Hills to the Vindhyachal ranges. It has grasslands, thick forest valleys, open fields and waterfalls, a good home for many kinds of wildlife. After years of exploring this region, Ashwin invites you to see it beyond park boundaries.

Birds

Vultures, raptors and owls

Raptors are the main attraction.

Vultures

Seven species are recorded: four in summer (long-billed, red-headed, white-rumped and Egyptian) and three winter migrants (cinereous, Himalayan and Eurasian griffon).
